About
Hi! I'm Héctor, a researcher passionate about applied Artificial Intelligence, born in Alcalá de Henares. My interest in technology started at a young age, largely influenced by my high school technology teacher who passed on his enthusiasm and knowledge to me. This led me to embark on a career in tech, a field that fascinates me and where I have found my true vocation.
Beyond my work, I enjoy immersing myself in activities that allow me to disconnect, such as rock climbing and hiking. I am also a lover of music and video games, which give me the opportunity to explore new worlds.
In my life and work, I deeply value teamwork, collaboration, transparency, and effort. These principles not only guide my research but also define how I relate to others.
In addition, I love experimenting with technology in my day-to-day life. In fact, I have automated a large part of my home, a personal project that has allowed me to integrate my love for innovation with my daily routines.
Resume
After completing my PhD in Information and Communication Technologies in 2021—where my research focused on autonomous driving, vehicle detection, keypoint extraction, and fine-grained vehicle classification—I joined NielsenIQ as a Machine Learning Research Scientist.
During my 3 years at NielsenIQ, I have worked in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) applied to Key Information Extraction (KIE) from receipts and invoices, Product Matching, Categorization, and various other business processes. My work involved researching and developing innovative solutions to automate and enrich NIQ's processes and data.
In September 2024, I joined Indra as an Experienced Professional within the NGWS/FCAS project. Currently, my work focuses on the development and application of advanced AI algorithms for EOIR (Electro-Optical and Infrared) systems. In this mission-critical environment, I leverage my expertise in Computer Vision and Deep Learning to enhance sensing capabilities, contributing to the next generation of European air sovereignty through intelligent data processing and target analysis.
